Relocations & Mid-Year Admissions

Moving schools, particularly if you are relocating from overseas or a different part of the UK, is a significant transition. At Kew House School, we understand the unique challenges this presents for both students and parents. Our admissions process is designed to be as supportive, flexible, and efficient as possible to ensure a smooth transition into our community.

The Process for Relocating Families
We welcome enquiries from families relocating to the West London area. The admissions journey for relocating students is tailored to account for international school schedules and geographical constraints.

  1. Initial Enquiry & Contact
  • Submit an Online Enquiry: Please complete our standard online enquiry form, noting clearly in the comments section that you are a relocating family and specifying your intended arrival date in the UK.

Enquiry Form

  • Share Documentation: Please email us copies of your child’s most recent school report (translated into English if necessary) and any available predicted grades or assessment results.
  1. Remote Assessment (If Required)

For applicants living overseas, we can often facilitate the admissions process remotely to secure a place before your arrival:

  • Virtual Interview: A key component is a personal interview with a senior member of staff, which will be conducted via video call (e.g., Zoom/Google Meet).
  • Remote Testing: Depending on the school year and availability, we can arrange for admission testing to be supervised at your child’s current school or a local examination centre.
  1. Offer & Confirmation

Upon successful interview and assessment, we will issue a formal offer. We understand you may require a flexible timeframe to accept, especially when coordinating an international move.

Mid-Year Admissions

While the majority of our students join us in September, we will consider applications for mid-year entry (joining during the Autumn, Spring, or Summer terms) if a suitable space becomes available.

Criteria for Mid-Year Entry:

  • Availability: Spaces are dependent on a place becoming free in the specific year group your child is applying for.
  • Assessment: All candidates must successfully complete our standard admissions process, including an interview and assessment.
  • Integration Plan: If an offer is made, we will work with you to create a personalised integration plan to help your child catch up on any work and quickly settle into the school’s rhythm. This may include a ‘buddy’ system and check-ins with the Head of Year.
