Reporting your child’s absence

Please complete our form on My School Portal when reporting all types of pupil absence. This is our main and preferred method.

To do this, please use the following steps:

  1. Log into your My School Portal account
  2. Select the green ‘Report My Child’s Absence’ button on the main dashboard.
  3. Complete and submit the form, before 8am on the day of absence

Alternatively, you may:

  1. Send written confirmation by email to registration@kewhouseschool.com
  2. Leave a voicemail on our absence line (020 8742 2038, option 1)

In both cases, please ensure that you state your child’s full name, form class, reason, and length of absence.

Type of Absence Further Steps
Vomiting & Diarrhoea If your child has vomited or has diarrhoea, it is school policy that they remain off school for 48 hours after their last episode.
Head Injuries Pupils must get checked at A&E and then should remain off school for 48 hours post-injury.
Absent for part of the school day If your child is arriving late or leaving school early due to an appointment, please ensure that you have completed our absence form before the day of the appointment. Please also remind your child to sign in or out at Reception.
Family Holiday Authorisation requests for Leave of absence due to family events (e.g. weddings, Bar Mitzvah, Christening etc.) must be sent directly to our Head, Mr Will Williams, at headmaster@kewhouseschool.com (copying in our Registration Supervisor, at registration@kewhouseschool.com) with an acceptable advanced notice period – in these instances, please do not complete the form or leave a voicemail.

Leave of absence will not normally be granted during term time unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Missing Games The school Attendance policy regarding Games and PE stipulates that pupils who are present in school but are not able to fully participate in Games have to attend and they act as assistant to the teachers or officiate, they do not participate per se.

If your child has an injury and has been advised by a doctor to be excused from Games, Mr Gregory, Head of Sports, can arrange for your child to study in the Library / ILC. Please email Mr Gregory (ryan.gregory@kewhouseschool.com) as well as our Registration Supervisor (registration@kewhouseschool.com) for Registration purposes.

We will not allow any pupils to leave our site unless we have permission from you.
